I don’t know where to begin. First, let me just say I am sorry for not posting and leaving you all to wonder what my fate was. No, I am not dead, but thank you for the concern! I am alive and well and have began to cook again.
During my absence, a few events occurred that took some emotional energy to try to get through. The major catalyst to this emotional journey was our trip to Maui on the sail boat. That trip did not work out so well.
I previously discussed that the few weeks leading up to our trip were a bit rough. Our puppy Violet was almost ran over by a truck (She is perfectly fine now, so calm down!) and the resulting medical care caused a hole in her side to open up (of course…). She if all better now and running around like a crazy girl bugging our older Beagle Jacob. We also dealt with A/C problems at the store which was no fun to try to fix. I think our wallet actually cried a bit…
The morning of the sail we all showed up at the boat, did our pre-trip things and finally headed out to sea. The waters were a bit rougher then we had anticipated, but not much. The winds were a bit rougher then we had anticipated, but not much.
Long story short, about three hours into our sail the mast came down. Yes, you read that correctly, our mast snapped and came down completely. Below is the link to the story of what happened.

Yes, the Australian Royal Navy did come to save us. It was a war ship with massive guns and many men with accents that boarded our boat. This all happened, it is not a joke.
So there you have it. Our harrowing ordeal on the wild ocean around Hawaii. This is part of the reason why I have not been posting very much. But the main reason; I was posting too much and began to slack on the job of keeping house!
And so, with a heavy heart I say to you that I will be posting when I can but it will not be as often as I did. I apologize, but get over it you ninny!
Until next time my friends, Do not Bon Voyage!
(Also, I got a new kitchen, pictured above!)
