Taco Very Much

An adventure into my own taco seasoning

Who doesn’t love tacos? Oddly enough, it almost seems like you are not an American if you hate tacos. I personally remember home-made tacos as a child being a family favorite and it always seemed like there was never enough. My mother would lament the next day because there were never left overs for her to have to lunch. (3 boys and one girl. ‘Nuff said.)

As I grew up, I learned to brown meat and make my own tacos at home, and this time I would left overs for days. Taco seasoning is great and we all have our favorite brands and blends, but if you were to actually read the packaging there are a lot of added ingredients that don’t make sense. So, I began experimenting with making my own blend, and below is the blend that has had the most success. Obviously change what you want, but try the blend before you make changes.

Bryon’s Taco Seasoning

  • 3 Tablespoons Cumin Powder

  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder

  • 1 Tablespoon Garlic Salt

  • 1 Tablespoon Oregano

  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika

  • 1/2 Tablespoon Onion Powder

You can double or triple and keep in your cabinet, but it will definitely have more flavor than you think it will.

Don’t be afraid, be brave, and just try it once. If you don’t like it, you never have to eat it again!
